The Earned Income Tax Credit is a federal, state, and New York City tax credit for qualifying families, noncustodial parents, and individuals who work full time or part time or are self-employed. While most eligible New Yorkers receive an average of $2,300 in combined EITC benefits, the combined credit can be worth up to $11,000.
Noncustodial Parent (NCP) Earned Income Credit
Are you a noncustodial parent (NCP) with an active child support case? You may be eligible for the Noncustodial Parent Earned Income Tax Credit. NCPs can go back two years to file for this credit. If you are an NCP, to apply go to , fill out Form IT-209, and submit it with your tax return to receive up to $1,580 in a tax refund.
