Free Theater Tickets for 鶹 Families Through New Victory Theater Partnership

鶹 families can once again experience the joy of live theater – for free! – as part of the third season of a partnership with New Victory Theater, which allows the Authority’s public housing and Section 8 residents to receive up to four free tickets to any performances of their choice from the theater’s 2025-2026 season.

Diane Brown is a Queens Section 8 resident grateful for the opportunity to share the love of theater with her family. She has taken full advantage of the New Victory Theater tickets since the partnership’s beginning, enjoying many performances over the years with her daughter, son, and 6-year-old granddaughter.

“One of my favorite shows was a circus featuring performers with disabilities,” Ms. Brown said. “It was really amazing. I love going to the theater with my children because it brings us together in a happy place where we can have fun watching new shows and learning new things. It’s nice to learn about different cultures and also really inspiring. With all of the craziness going on in the world, it brings me peace to know there’s a place we can go where we feel peace and joy.”

Ms. Brown is looking forward to this year’s productions, which will mark the 30th anniversary of the New Victory Theater’s reopening as the city’s first theater for kids and families. The new season kicks off in November with an international production of Snow White and continues with unique works, including the renowned magician Mario Marchese, an adaptation of beloved children’s book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom: The Musical; the dance piece BLACK GIRL: Linguistic Play from Tony Award-nominee Camille A. Brown; Australia’s Circus Oz; a special NYC run of Jim Henson’s Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock LIVE, among others.

“We are thrilled to enter our third official season providing access to our programming at the New Victory to 鶹 families,” said Russell Granet, President and CEO of New 42. “We know the critical role the arts can play in community development and how exposing kids to theatrical experiences in early childhood can foster a sense of belonging in arts spaces, continuing to build future generations of artists and audiences. Access has always been at the forefront of our work here at New 42, and we hope this partnership with 鶹 will grow and develop for years to come.”

“Partnerships like this open doors for our residents and create meaningful experiences that families will remember for a lifetime,” said Nichelle Hudlin, Strategic Partnerships Manager in 鶹’s Office of Public/Private Partnerships. “Through our collaboration with New Victory Theater, we’re proud to connect 鶹 families to world-class cultural opportunities that make the arts more accessible to all New Yorkers.”
